Ann Mae Vires, 96, of Barberton, passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. Ann was born in Oneida, Tennessee to the late Calvin and Nancy Jane (Smith) Litton on April 9, 1921. She was the youngest of six children. Ann grew up during the Great Depression and this instilled a sense of frugality and appreciation for hard work that served her well throughout her life. She married Ewen Vires in 1941. During World War II while her husband and brothers were away fighting in the war, she did her part to help by working in ammunition factories in Cincinnati and Detroit. Afterwards, she spent the rest of her life working to raise her children and spending time with family.Preceded by her parents; all her siblings; her husband Ewen and her son, Kenny. Ann is survived by her sons, Otis, Jeff, Ewen “Raymond” and Jimmie and her daughters, Sandra Caudill and Brenda Copeland; plus she was blessed with many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ann’s funeral service will be held Friday (TODAY) at 1 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Pastor Robert Webb officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until time of service. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
