Welcome to the memorial page for

Charles J. Evans

December 12, 1929 ~ January 5, 2018 (age 88) 88 Years Old

Charles J. Evans, 88, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 5, 2018 surrounded by his beloved wife and family. Charles was born in Sutton, WV to the late Guy and Eva Evans.  He was preceded in death by siblings, Claude, Clayton, Leon and Wanda.  Charles will be dearly missed by his wife of 67 years, Wilda (Miles), his sisters, Belva Miller and Zora (Jerry) Bradley; his children, Sharon (Paul) Null, Connie (Frank) Graven, and Clinton (Dawn) Evans.  He leaves grandsons, Clinton (Jessica) Evans and Christopher (Ashley) Evans and great-grandchildren, Emily, Adayson, Charles “Charlie”, Avery and special nephews, Larry and Steve Luzader, niece, Penny Watson and many other loved nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Charles liked being outdoors and enjoyed gardening and hunting.  He had many jobs and titles, but he was best at being a loving husband and father.  He loved his family with a steadfast, unconditional love and we have been truly blessed our whole lives. As much as Charles loved his family, he loved and served our Lord with all his heart, soul, mind and strength.  His last words were, “Praise the Lord.”  He has at last heard the words he longed for, “Well done my good and faithful servant.”  Thank you, Jesus. The family would like to especially thank the doctors and staff of Summa Hospice for the wonderful care given to our father. The family will receive friends on Wednesday January 10, 2018 from 4–7 p.m. and one hour before the funeral service at 12 p.m. Thursday January 11, 2018 at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 West Park Avenue, Barberton, Ohio 44203. Rev. Cecil Farmer will be officiating. Interment will be in Greenlawn Memorial Park.  If you wish, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Humane Society of Akron.
