Wadsworth – Constance “Connie” J. Young (nee Mattingly), 90 years of age, born on September 1, 1926 in Barberton, Ohio, passed away at Medina Hospice surrounded by her children on Saturday, October 8, 2016. Having raised her family in Barberton and also residing in Clinton and Wadsworth. In a bittersweet moment another angel has found her wings and has set off on a flight, safe and into the arms of loved ones who have passed before her waiting and anticipating her arrival as she makes her way into heaven. She will join her devoted loving husband, Cecil “Bud”; her parents, Thomas and Irene Mattingly; her three sisters; five brothers; and a very loving grandson, Jason Avant. Leaving to mourn her passing are her seven children and their spouses; Connie and Jim Fisher of Wadsworth, Ohio and The Villages, Florida, Beverly Young of Wadsworth, Ohio, Janice and Bob Kenna of Norton, Ohio, Jill and Vince Roberts of Wadsworth, Ohio, Gary Young of Wooster, Ohio, Larry and Tracy of Wadsworth, Ohio and Terry and Janet of Canal Fulton, Ohio; 36 grandchildren; forty-two great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren; along with many other loving relatives and friends. Connie was a proud graduate of Barberton High School, earning her GED at the age of 54 in 1980, at the same time her youngest child, Jill graduated from high school. Connie enjoyed the many trips with Cecil to Las Vegas and playing with the big boys in the poker room.  She loved to crochet, cooking for her family and loved going to the Barberton Senior Center to swim with the arthritis group and with her group of friends who called themselves, “Bare Butt Buddies”. Mom we hope you go dance with wings of laughter!  We will see you in the spring flowers, we will feel your caress in the rain and we will hear you in the gentle breeze. Funeral service will be held Thursday 11 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with niece, Rev. Patricia Eckel officiating.  Entombment at Greenlawn Memorial Park.  Connie’s family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Harvest for Hunger: Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, 350 Opportunity Parkway, Akron, Ohio 44307-2234.
