Darwin “Buzz” Kennedy, 86, passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2017 to play “Blazing 777” at the big casino in the sky. He was born May 13, 1931 in Barberton and was a graduate of Norton High School, Class of 1949.  Buzz retired from Babcock and Wilcox after 33 years of service.  He traveled around the world logging more than 3 million air miles.  He loved sports and the casinos.  Throughout his life he lived in Ohio and Florida, but he liked North Carolina the best.  He always said that it was “Carolina Blue” down here. Preceded in death by parents, Darwin Kennedy and Mabel Mullet and son, Jeffrey.  Buzz is survived by sister, Iris Nott; brother, Bill (Charlotte) Kennedy; children, Cheri (Don) Rollins, Jill (Todd) West, Pam Kennedy, Kerry Kennedy, Susan Drotar and Lori Collins (Russell); 14 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be no public service.  In lieu of flowers, you can make a donation to your favorite charity or go to McDonalds and have a cup of coffee in his honor.  Like he always said, “I did it my way”.
