Our mom, Liz Potter, passed away on February 23, 2018 after nearly 104 lively years. She was born on April 12th, 1914 on Easter Sunday. We were fortunate to have her with us so long. She was a Barberton native, loved the town, and never lived or expressed any desire to live anywhere else. Her religion sustained her throughout her life. She was active in Saint Augustine Catholic Church, and was particularly active for many years in the Holy Hour program. From her childhood, she loved music and found great joy in playing the piano. She favored now-classic hits from her younger days, but, playing by ear, could offer in short order a pleasing rendition of almost anything singable. She provided piano accompaniment to birthday party guests singing "Happy Birthday" for her on her 100th birthday. But her primary focus was always her family. A devoted wife and mother, she took excellent care of all of us with a great sense of humor and entertainment. She was predeceased by her brother, Thomas Lamiell, her loving and very devoted husband of 57 years, Eugene A. Potter, daughter Marianne Remark, and son, Edward P. Potter. She is survived by son, Thomas E. Potter (Julie), daughter, Patricia Steiner, son-in-law, Robert Remark, and grandchildren, Monica Vinay (Roy), Elizabeth Oxford, Christopher Remark (Stacy), Stephen Vinay (Cheryl), Michael Vinay (Melanie), Tracy Remark (Ty), and Gail Potter. She also leaves seven great-grandchildren.
