Hermine Lewandowski

Hermine Lewandowski, 88, passed away Sunday, February 11, 2018, surrounded by family at her bedside. Hermine and her husband, Walter T. Lewandowski, met in New York at a dance in 1956, married, and raised their three children. In 1975, they continued their life together in Fairlawn, Ohio. Her husband Walter passed away in 2006, shortly after their 48th wedding anniversary. Hermine spent 34 years working for the Salvation Army, retiring at age 79. She spent most of her retirement living with her son Peter in Columbus, Ohio.She is survived by her son Peter Lewandowski, son Walter H. Lewandowski his wife Marie, grandchildren, Walter C. and Christina, and her daughter Diana Kelley; granddaughter, Emily Robertson and her husband Mike and great grandchildren, Luke and Gracie.Her sense of adventure, traditional cooking, and time with her family and grandchildren will be missed by all.      Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, February 17th at 11 a.m. at St. Sebastian Church, 476 Mull Ave., Akron, Ohio 44320.  Burial at Rose Hill Burial Park in Fairlawn.  Hermine’s family will receive friends on Friday, February 16th from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W.
