Jonathan E. Sickels, 35, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016. Our family had to say goodbye to Jonathan after he suffered from a massive stroke.  His complications from diabetes which he suffered from for 27 years along with his elevated blood pressure lead up to this catastrophic event. Jonathan was carefree, fun loving and compassionate man.  He would give to anyone that needed help, even if he needed it more.  He always put others before himself.  In September 2015, Jonathan was diagnosed with stage 4 kidney failure causing him to give himself dialysis every night.  He suffered from nausea, swelling and would not feel good most days from the dialysis.  This didn’t stop him from enjoying his life.  He never felt sorry for himself.  We are so sad our time has ended with Jonathan.  We will miss all his great stories he would tell and that contagious smile he had that would light up a room when he walked in.  He was a life resident of the Akron area. Preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy; grandfathers, Franklin Peck and Norman Sickels and grandmother, Pat Sickels. Survived by his wife, Amanda; daughter, Bella; step-children, Elizabeth, Mason, Alex and Madison; parents, Ron (Denise) Sickels and Sabrina Peck; grandmother, Jeanette Peck; brothers, Joshua (Angie) and Zack Sickels; step-sister, Brianne (Rob) Taylor; niece and nephew, Layla and Hendrix Sickels; aunts and uncles, Brad (Tami) Henry, Frank (Carla) Peck, Janene (Donald) Housley and Terry (Tammy) Sickels; cousins, Frankie and Samantha Peck and Danny and Kelly Housley; best friends, Brad Zelei and Nate Amundson. Funeral service will be held Friday 1 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Greg Murphy officiating.  The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
