Barberton – Wayne L. McVey, 87, passed away Sunday, September 3, 2017.  A resident of Barberton for 65 years, he was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Korean War. Wayne retired from B.F. Goodrich and served as Vice President and President of the Barberton Men’s Democratic Club.  He was an avid golfer and bowler and enjoyed winning at cards with his grandchildren. Wayne’s life revolved around his family.  Preceded in death by his parents, Warren C. and Mary McVey; granddaughters, Katherine McVey and Staci McVey; survived by his wife of 65 years, Mildred (Rokich) McVey; brother, Arthur (Pat) McVey; children, Tina (Terry) Palmer, Wayne Jr. (Paula) McVey, Warren McVey, Lori (Joe) Csipke; grandchildren, Carrie (John) Skarl, Brad (Samanth) Palmer, Ian McVey, Sean McVey, Samantha McVey and Casey Csipke; great-grandsons, Wyatt and Jonas Skarl and Abram Palmer; along with many other family members and friends.  Funeral service will be held Friday, September 8th at 1 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Fr. Matthew Jordan officiating.  Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park with military honors conducted by Firestone VFW 3393.  The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 7th from 5 to 8 p.m.  “Goodnight……love you…..see you in the morning”.
