Archie J. Cardinali

Archie J. Cardinali, 85, passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 with his family by his side.He was born in Everett, Mass. On December 31, 1932.  A resident of Norton for most of his life.  He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in the Korean War.  Archie retired from NASA with over 30 years of service and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church and the “Hunky Club”.Archie loved the outdoors and was an avid golfer, hunter, fisherman and enjoyed gardening.Preceded in death by his grandson, Mark Canfora II; survived by his wife of 63 years, Nancy; children, Anthony J. Cardinali, Lisa (Greg) Jursik, Michael A. (Sandi) Cardinali and Gina (Kevin Jenkins) Cardinali; grandchildren, Carly (Gary) Nicholas, Christopher A. Cardinali, Andrea Cardinali and Alex Jursik; great-grandson, Bryce Nicholas; along with other relatives and many friends.Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, May 17th at 10:30 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church, 204 6th St., N.W., Barberton.  Followed by burial with military honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery.  Archie’s family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 16th from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, where prayers will be said on Thursday at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
