Ethel “Mozell” Neely Keener (nee Hensley), age 88, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2018.She was born August 26, 1929 in Livingston, Tennessee to parents, Roy and Ova (Kennedy) Hensley. She lived most of her live in Summit County where she received her nursing license.Mom was last employed at Pleasant View Health Care Center where she retired after many years there. She was a member of Johnson United Methodist Church in Norton.Mom enjoyed life. Fun over the years included dancing, gardening, travel, golfing, bowling, crocheting and especially in recent years, visiting with family and friends.We loved her as a mom, grandmom, friend and companion. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim C. Neely and sons, Roger Neely and Dwayne Neely and great-grandson, Ethan Eschman, as well as brother, Clyde Hensley and sister-in-law, Alice Hensley.She will be missed by her son, Jim Neely, her daughter, Helen (Larry) Meszaros; her grandchildren, Sarah (Ed) Eschman, Charity (Scott) Conrad and David (Julie) Neely; her great-grandchildren, Christian, Lili, Victoria, Michael and Elliott. She is also survived by her brother, Perry Hensley and her sister-in-law, Hauda Hensley and friend, John Keener. Not only was mom employed as a nurse at Pleasant View Health Care Center, but she was later also a resident enjoying her older friendships as well as new ones. It was her home and community in the last years and she so appreciated the skills, hard work and kindnesses extended to her daily. There is no way to thank staff enough for helping make the people living there feel valued and for helping them enjoy their days.Thank you to Harbor Light Hospice also for their care.A family service will be graveside.
