Alan John Morton, 70, went home to be with the Lord early on Sunday, August 27, 2023. He was from Scotland and lived in Copley for 15 years. Preceded in death by his parents, Joan Pooley Donaldson Morton and Alexander Hugh Morton. Alan is survived by his children, Alison, Paul and Emma of Edinburgh and two grand babies. He is also survived by his wife, Sharon (nee Moore); Sharon’s children, William and Gregory with three grand kids. Alan was a computer tech for the Bank of Scotland. Moving to the states he worked for Goodwill Industries and volunteered at the Salvation Army. Alan was also an artist, a musician who played keys for both traditional and contemporary services at Grace Church Norton Campus. He was part of a Rock Band in Scotland. Alan was awarded at plaque for mastering over 1 Million CD’s with the Scottish Band Intimate Strangers. Alan was also an accomplished actor. He appeared in several Scottish TV programs including, “Monarch of the Glen”. It was a miniseries that has aired on PBS locally. A memorial service will be held for Alan on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 6 p.m. at Grace Church Norton Campus, 3970 S. Cleveland Massillon Road, Norton, Ohio 44203 with Pastor Aiden Finn officiating. His family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until time of his service. Inurnment will take place in Glasgow, Scotland resting alongside of his parents.
