Amy L. Brickels

 Amy L. Brickels, age 95, died Thursday, December 6, 2018.She was born in Barberton, Ohio on February 19, 1923 to Beulah and Harold Ware.  She was the beloved wife of the late James T. Brickels for 59 years.  She was also preceded in death by her brother, Donald Ware and wife, Vicky. Amy is survived by her children, Judy Brickels of Barberton, Michael Brickels (Marsha) of West Fork, Arkansas and John Brickels (Wendy James) of Lowell, MA; grandchildren, Carolyn Medart (Jarod) and Aaron Brickels, and three great-grandchildren, Aven, Molly and Rosie; sister, Betty Tyree nieces and nephews.Amy was employed by the Akron Public Schools as a teacher for 17 years.  She and her husband, Jim loved music and she played the accordion and the piano.  They sang in the St. Augustine Church Choir and the Barberton Slovak Chorus.  They participated together in the Adoration Program at St. Augustine Church.Amy also loved her volunteer work at Barberton Citizens Hospital.The family wishes to thank the staffs at Doylestown Health Care Center and the Magnolia by Sanctuary Health Network and Crossroads Hospice and Palliative Care for their compassionate care.Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, December 20th at 10 a.m. at St. Augustine Catholic Church.  Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park.There will be no calling hours.Memorials may be made to St. Augustine Organ Fund or the Capital Fund, 204 Sixth St. N.W., Barberton 44203.
