Betty M. (Measell) Johns

Betty M. Johns, 79, passed away Thursday, May 9, 2024. She was born in Barberton on January 20, 1945. Betty was a graduate of Barberton High School, Class of 1963. She retired from Portage Behavioral Health and was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Betty enjoyed her once a month Class of 63 Club “The Girls” lunches at Angies. She was extremely passionate about her gardening and also enjoyed her numerous excursions to Myrtle Beach. Preceded in death by her parents, Burrell and Virginia Measell; husband, David L. Johns; sisters, Maureen Measell, Carole Swiger and Marian Barcus and brother, David Measell. Betty is survived by her son, Dean Studenic; granddaughter, Ashley (Ryan) Norton; great-grandsons, Parker and Nolan Norton; sister, Kim Satori; brothers, Kevin (Sue) Measell, Donald Measell and Dennis Measell; along with other relatives and friends. Betty’s funeral service will be held Friday, May 17, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Deacon Robin Adair officiating. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Betty’s family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Humane Society of Summit County, 7996 Darrow Road, Twinsburg, Ohio 44087.
