Beverly Ankrim Obituary

Beverly Belle Ankrim, 87, with her loving children by her side, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, April 23, 2021. Born August 1, 1933, in Hudson, Ohio, Beverly’s family moved to Barberton in the 1940’s. She graduated from Barberton High School in 1951. Beverly began a career in retail working at Marshall’s Department Store in 1950, and then later joined the office staff at J.C. Penney where she worked for over 20 years. Beverly relocated to Florida for 10 years and worked at SunTrust Bank. She returned to the Barberton area where she finished her career at the Barberton Herald. In the 1950’s, Beverly met the Ankrim, Hall, and Keefer families and began attending the Pilgrim Holiness Church where Rev. Roy Ankrim pastored. Her life was forever changed as she accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior. She was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, later known as Calvary Wesleyan Church, where she invested her life in serving the children and mission ministries. Later in life she was blessed to become a member of Grace Church, Norton Campus. Beverly will be missed, remembered, and always deeply cherished by those who had the privilege to know her. As she wrote in a letter to her children in 1996,”The vast majority of my days have been marked by new experiences, new friends, exploration, challenges met, laughter, love, joy, and peace. God’s providing and protecting hand has been upon me. I have found two unwavering truths that have served to affirm and validate my existence - to glorify God and to bear, raise and rejoice in six fabulous children.” What a legacy Beverly carried on from Grandpa Ankrim and now hands off to those of us left behind. Well done thou good and faithful servant! Survived by a large and loving family, Beverly leaves behind her four children: Paul Douglas Ankrim of Barberton, Ohio; Nancy (Michael) Coffman of Orlando, Florida; Debra (Warner) Watson of Jackson, Mississippi; Dennis (Mary) Ankrim of Norton, Ohio; their father, Paul Dennis Ankrim; her sisters: Dolly Rickenbacker; Jean Metz; Barbara (Barbie) Ankrim; her best friend of 60+ years, Marge Keefer; her grandchildren: Andrea (Paul) Adams; Joshua (Rebekah) Coffman, Nathan (Candace) Smith, Ashley (Marco) Loureiro; Aaron Ankrim; Alexandria (Kevin) Kelly; Hannah Shape; Gabrielle Burgess (Andres); Michael Shape (Amelia); Mickayla Ankrim; Denise Ankrim; as well as 14 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a number of other adopted family members that she fondly referred to as “her children from another mother.” We will miss our “Tea Times with Bev” where we could share our deepest burdens and concerns knowing she cared deeply. We would leave encouraged and challenged to seek the Lord with all of our heart, soul, and mind. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, Morris and Thelma Duxbury, and her daughters, Dolores (Jeannie) Ankrim Burgess and Sherri Ann Ankrim. Due to current circumstances masks are REQUIRED and social distancing will be observed. The family will receive friends at Campfield-Hickman on Thursday, April 29, 2021, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at Grace Church, Norton Campus, with visitation beginning at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Bob Combs and Pastor Dan Gregory will be officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, Beverly requested memorials be made to Grace Church, Norton Campus, Music Ministry, 3970 S. Cleveland Massillon Road, Norton, OH  44203.
