Bonnie L. Rummer, 85, of Norton, Ohio passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 7, 2025. She was born in Athens, Ohio and was a graduate of Barberton High School. Bonnie spent most of her life in Norton, where she devoted herself to her family, friends and community. Bonnie was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn (12/9/2024). Together they raised five children who were the joy and pride of her life. She is survived by Tammy McAdoo (Robert), Jeff Rummer (Melissa), Laura Sue Hancock (Jeff), Paul Rummer and Elizabeth Fern (Rusty), as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren and other family members who will cherish her memory. For many years, Bonnie worked at Barberton Citizens Hospital as a nurse’s aide in the newborn nursery and later in the central service department. She cared for others with kindness, compassion and dedication, traits that also defined her role as a mother and friend. Known as the “neighborhood mom”, she opened her home and her heart to countless children and families over the years. She had a lifelong love of gardening and her yard was always filled with beautiful flowers that reflected her nurturing spirit. Most of all, she treasured time spent with her family, whether gathered for holidays, celebrations or simply enjoying one another’s company. Her warmth, generosity and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who know her. A service to celebrate Bonnie’s life will be held at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, Ohio 44203 on Friday, September 12, 2025 at 2 p.m. with Mike Hawkins officiating. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 11, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m.
