Byron Edward Barnes

Byron Edward Barnes passed away Thursday, November 18, 2021 following a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. He was 80 years old. Born in Barberton on Sept. 15, 1941, Byron grew up in Wayne County and graduated from Norwayne High School in 1959. He attended Manchester College (North Manchester, Indiana), where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry. He worked in the laboratory at Barberton Hospital for 46 years. He was dearly loved by his wife Pamela (Snyder), his son Eric (Tami) Barnes, stepdaughters Deanna (Randy) Gross, Angie (Bryan) Sigmon, and stepson Steven (Lisa) Pleskach. Byron is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Aiden, Katarina, Nicolette (Brad), Brad, Nick, Jordynn, Dakota, Logan, Emma, Serena and Miranda. He was also a beloved uncle to five nieces and nephews and a dear friend to many. He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Thomas and Ina Barnes, Sisters Betty Rogers, Bonnie McElroy, and Brothers Bert and Bruce Barnes. Byron’s family will receive friends on Monday, November 22nd from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton.
