Carol Lee Sorrell-Turinsky, 86, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 25, 2025, surrounded by the greatest joy of her life – her beloved family. Born on October 4, 1938. Carol was a women of extraordinary strength, deep faith, and fierce love. Carol was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was marked by hard work and resilience. After attending trade school, she became a skilled machinist and worked diligently in a factor for many years. She embodied strength and passed that legacy on to her daughters and grandchildren, instilling in them her unwavering determination and perseverance. Carol had a heart full of love and generosity. She was a fighter, a giver, and a woman with a joyful spirit. She had a good sense of humor, enjoyed shopping, and was a proud foodie who cherished meals with her family – these were often the moments she held dearest. She found joy in simple pleasures, like visits to the beauty salon, and always carried herself with grace and positivity. Carol faced her brief battle with cancer courageously and faithfully. Her strength through adversity was a testament to her unshakable faith in her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. That faith carried her with peace and hope to the very end. Carol is preceded in death by her siblings, Butch Strawbridge, Bill Strawbridge and Bonnie Jean Rowley, her husband, and love of her life of 38 years, Ben Sorrell; her husband of eleven years, John Turinsky; her daughter, Suzanne Brown; and her grandsons, Chris Brown and Brian Michael Irby. She is survived by her loving daughters: Beverly Largent, Terri Irby (Brian) and Geri Good (Steve). Her legacy continues through her cherished grandchildren: Melissa Largent, Shannon Billick, Jerry Largent, Sydney Good, and Cassidy Good. She also leaves behind her dear sister, Gerri Sorrell, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. To know Carol was to love her. Her life was a beautiful example of strength, love and faith – and she will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Funeral service for Carol will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 11 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, Ohio 44203 with Pastor Jerry Butcher officiating.Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Carol’s family will receive friends on Thursday, May 29, 2025 from 6 to 8 p.m.
