Caroline "Carol" A. (Tilley) Rafferty

Caroline “Carol” A. Rafferty, 78, passed away Monday, August 7, 2023. She was born on August 4, 1945.  Carol was a registered nurse and was employed by Rafferty Nursing Home and then Pleasant View Health Care for many years. After retirement she volunteered with Hospice for a few years. She volunteered with the Barberton Library and was President of Friends of the Library.  Carol was active with the Barberton Kiwanis, Barberton High School Key Club and Builders Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick D. Rafferty; parents, Truman and Ina Tilley; brother, Larry J. Tilley; great-grandson, Finn Charles Hunt and nephew, Wesley Chapman. Caroline is survived by her son, Patrick A. (Michelle) Rafferty; daughter, Laura Rafferty-Smith (Wally); grandchildren, John (Roxanne) Stender II, Nathaniel Stender, Eric Smith, Mallory (Tim) Hunt, Taylor (Daniel) Kinder and Chris Johnson; great-grandchildren, Emerald, Austin, Trenton, Bayleigh, Braxton, Alixandria and Dean; siblings, Sandra Wilcher, Sara Vargo, Ronald Tilley, Nancy Ginther, Daniel Tilley, Margaret (Kenny) Chapman and Mark (Sue) Tilley; special friend, Michael Yancura who always called her “Honey”; along with many other relatives and friends. Caroline’s funeral service will be held Friday, August 11, 2023 at 11 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton with Rev. Rod Grabski officiating. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends and family on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to, Friends of the Library or Barberton Kiwanis.
