Charles H. “Chuckie” Lewis Sr., 82, passed away Saturday, April 24, 2021. A resident of Barberton for over 40 years, he was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1956, where he played basketball. Chuck was a proud veteran of the USMC. He retired from the City of Barberton as a firefighter with 22 years of service. Preceded in death by his parents, J. Frank and Anna Lewis; uncle, Charles Francis Judy and sister, Maryann Lewis Bearden. Survived by his wife, Evelyn “Evie” Beitel-Lewis; children, Charles Lewis Jr., Janet (Frank) Marroquin, Karen Lewis and Mary (Tito) Selosse; stepchildren, Paul (Janet) Beitel, Keith (Juli) Beitel and Michelle (Johnny) Herold; grandchildren, Chase Lewis and Tito Selosse; eight step-grandchildren; 18 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Schumacher; brothers, Bob (Mary) Lewis, Tom (Claudia) Lewis and Jim (Ginny) Lewis; along with many other relatives and friends. Due to current circumstances masks are REQUIRED and social distancing will be observed. Chuckie’s funeral service will be held Monday, May 3rd at 12 Noon at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Pastor Paul Beitel officiating. Burial to follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with military honors. His family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. with the last alarm service at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
