Charles J. Umbaugh Sr.

Charles J. Umbaugh Sr., 87, passed away Wednesday, November 10, 2021. He was a resident of Barberton for 55 years and retired from Copley Township. Charles was a U.S. Army veteran and past Commander of Copley VFW #7971. He was active in the area Little League Baseball for 50 years, serving as Administrator for Akron District 3. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Melvine; sisters, Jean Owens and Beatrice Atkinson; wife, Marcella and great-grandson, Jordan Humphrey. Charles is survived by his children, Jim (Debbie) Umbaugh Jr., Debbie (Kenny) Betts, Katie (Kevin) Robinson, Vonnie Singleton, Bill Umbaugh and Ron Umbaugh; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; three sisters and one brother.  Charles’ family will receive friends on Monday, November 15th from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with family remembrances at 7:30 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203.
