It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Christine Mae Knierien (Clark), who went to heaven to be with her beloved husband, Dale, on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, after a short but courageous battle with leukemia. She passed away in Akron, Ohio at the age of 65. Christine was born in Akron, Ohio, on May 22, 1960 to Spencer Thomas Clark and Mae Arlene Smith. Christine was the kindest soul, always ready to give all she could to anyone in need. Full of life, warmth, and compassion, she touched countless hearts through her selflessness and gentle spirit. She cherished her family deeply – her children, grandchildren and beloved animals brought her endless joy. She loved spending time with her horses, “Freedom” and “Steppenwolf” playing cards with her loving lady friends, researching genealogy, and caring for her cat, “Clyde” and her loyal pup-pup, “Hubie”. Christine’s grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them.She was a devoted member of the Relief Society in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Akron, Ohio, where her faith and kindness shone brightly. She was also a 10 year member of The Red Hats of Canal Fulton. Christine is survived by her loving mother, Mae Clark (Smith); her children, Brandy Mansfield (Dan) and Nathaniel Knierien (Chelsea); her cherished grandchildren, Noah Knierien, Cora Baumgardner, Theo Mansfield, Kinley Mansfield, Hazel Mansfield, Blake Delaney, Benson Horn and Jacob Horn; siblings, Joyce Falkenstein (Darryl) and Thomas Clark (Jenny), mother-in-law, Judith (Manard) Porter; along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dale; her father, Thomas and brother-in-law, Denny. We invite friends and family to gather, share memories and honor the beautiful life she lived from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 735 N. Revere Road, Akron, Ohio 44333 with a Celebration of Life from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Private family dinner to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you celebrate Christine’s life by supporting a meaningful cause or sharing a simple act of kindness in her honor. Christine will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
