Connie (McAvinew) Frye

Connie Lee Frye, of Englewood, Florida, formerly of Barberton, Ohio, passed away Sunday, March 28th, 2021 after a long illness. She was 76 years young. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard McAvinew and her mother, Pansy Lee McAvinew. She is survived by her sister, Betty (Frank) Jones of Barberton, Ohio and her brothers, Mike (Carol) McAvinew, of Cape Coral, Florida, and Mark (Linda) McAvinew of Rotunda, Florida. She leaves behind her husband, lover, and best friend of over 50 years, Tom Frye. She also leaves behind her five children: Todd (Colleen) Frye, of Englewood, Florida; Scott (Amie) Frye, of the Philippines; Corey Frye (and former daughter-in-law Leah Frye) of Barberton, Ohio; Joel (Carol) Frye, of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and Monica Frye (Mike Galen), of Kent, Ohio. She has seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Besides being a full-time mom, she also worked for Dr. Pappas, Barberton City Schools, Yoder Brothers, and Service America Corporation.  Connie was a graduate of Barberton High School, Class of 1962 and enjoyed being in the school band. Cremation has taken place per her request. A “Celebration of Life” ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 1st, 2021 at Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home located at 556 West Park Ave. in Barberton, Ohio, 44203 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
