Connie L. Hutson

Connie Louise Hutson (Pecimon) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 at the age of 69 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was born in Barberton, Ohio on October 9, 1953 to Edward Ray and Eva Jane Hutson. Along with her three brothers, Connie grew up in Barberton and attended Barberton schools. Connie was always a bright student, an avid reader, and an excellent writer. Connie survived two marriages and two divorces. She struggled for many years with substance abuse and addictions and paid dearly for her choices. After entering recovery, Connie lived in Florida for a time with her mother, Eva Holley, and in 2015 the two moved back to Ohio and shared an apartment in Wooster. Connie worked in the deli at Buehler’s in Orrville and Wooster to put herself through school, where in her 50s she earned a BS in Social Work from the University of Akron. After graduation, Connie worked at Legacy III in Akron and OneEighty in Wooster before she retired. Connie loved to travel to West Virginia to visit her extended family among the green hills there. She doted on her three granddaughters and enjoyed spinning vinyl albums and listening to old rock and roll songs. Connie loved all kinds of flowers, especially lilacs in the Spring. Her favorite season was Autumn when the air turned crisp and cool. She enjoyed decorating for all the holidays. She loved Christmas glitter and lights, and always delighted in the first snowfall of the season. Connie is survived by her daughter, Nonya Stalnaker Wenger (Eugene) of Wooster, Ohio; granddaughters Lauren Stalnaker, Julia Ehser, and Justina Ehser, and great-grandson Jamison, along with brothers Tim Hutson of Huntsville, Alabama; David Hutson (Beverly) of Wadsworth, Ohio; and Teddy Hutson of Wooster, Ohio. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday, May 11, 2023 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. followed by a brief service at Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 West Park Avenue, Barberton, Ohio 44203.
