Danny Otto Obituary

Danny Warren Otto, 75, of Doylestown, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 after battling illness for many years. Danny was born on March 17, 1950, to Frank and Mable Otto (Hill) in Barberton, Ohio. Danny graduated from Barberton High School, Class of 1968. Danny wore Magic purple proudly for his entire life.Danny went on to serve his country in the U.S. Army as an E-5 Sergeant Paratrooper following high school. He was a proud veteran and his family was proud of him for that, too. Following his time with the Army, Danny went on to have a successful career in wholesale furniture sales, representing manufacturers’ products to retail furniture sales across Ohio and surrounding states. Danny knew his furniture and likely looked under yours to see who made it when you were not looking. Danny was a funny, fun, athletic, active guy. He was someone who you could be yourself in front of, and he would accept and love you for you, offering wise, practical, loving advice along the way. Danny loved basketball, in particular. He could be found in downtown Canal Fulton at the pick-up-games for 30 plus years. In his retirement, Danny enjoyed golfing and bowling with his lifelong buddies, and spending time with his family. Danny was a valuable source of real love for his family and friends, and he will be greatly missed. Danny was preceded in death by his parents Frank D. and Mable M. Otto of Norton/Barberton Ohio. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Julie Otto, his four loving children, Jim Zucallo, Nathan Otto (Amy), Clayton Otto (Katie), and Callie Channell (Eric), his grandchildren, (Sophia O., Maxwell, Crosby, Silas, Gavin and Sophia K.), his brothers, Mark and Donald (Lori), and first wife, Melinda Otto. Services will be held at Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home at 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, Ohio 44203 on Thursday, September 25 at 2:30 p.m. Danny’s family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until time of his service. Burial to follow at Clinton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a charitable organization Danny supported and believed in.
