David L. Cunningham, passed in peace on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the age of 72. Preceded in death by his parents Roy & Marybelle, and his sister Cathy. He leaves to cherish his memory with his daughter, Leslie and son in-law Ryan Perryman; son, Joshua Cunningham; sister, Glenda (Gene) Testa; brother, Chuck (Beckie); niece, Andrea (Scott) Vojtkofsky and nephews Cameron Cunningham and Trevor & Cody Vojtkofsky. David was devoted to 3 things in life...His God, family and his country. David was as patriotic and devout as they come. He was a man of principles and prided himself on standing by them, sometimes stubbornly so. Throughout his life, he enjoyed participating in sports, fishing, hunting and an avid bowler, belonging to several leagues. He was always striving for that perfect score. He loved attending the many family reunions and especially becoming a “Big Brother” unselfishly providing gifts and love to many deserving children. He remained a devoted father to his children, Leslie & Joshua. Drafted into the US Army and proudly served his country, mostly overseas in Germany. He was honorably discharged, he returned home and started a long career with Consolidated Freights (CF) and Yellow for over 35+ years. He had several increasingly responsible positions when he ultimately found his passion of driving truck. He won 1st place in the twin-trailer division of the Pennsylvania statewide competition and went on to compete in the 1991 National Truck Driving Championship. He loved the freedom of driving. Throughout his retirement he enjoyed fellowship and friendly faces at the local “Coffee Pot.” Services with Military Honors will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park at the Ivy Chapel on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 10 a.m. with Pastor Mike Prebynski officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made “in honor of David Cunningham” to The Wounded Warrior Project.
