David Harris Obituary

David Michael Harris, known to many as "Big Sexy" or simply "Big Dave," passed away unexpectedly on May 29, 2026, at the age of 56.

Born on October 16, 1969, in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, David graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1988. He was employed by ACS Industries in Kent, Ohio.

David was the devoted husband and best friend of Kimberly for 25 wonderful years. Together, they made Norton their home, building a life centered around family, friendship, and community. They shared a love story filled with laughter, loyalty, and unwavering devotion.

David was a proud and loving father to his son, Logan, who was the center of his world. He adored his family and worked every day to make sure they knew how deeply they were loved.

Everything David did was for the people he loved most. Kimberly and Logan were his greatest joy, his proudest accomplishments, and the heart of the life he built.

He was the cherished son of Barbara Menteer and a treasured friend to countless people whose lives were brighter because of his presence. David also coached for Norton Schools, proudly coaching football and bowling and leaving a lasting impact on the many young athletes he mentored throughout the years.

David had a personality larger than life. He was known for his incredible sense of humor, infectious laugh, and unforgettable hugs that could make anyone feel safe and loved. Whether you needed advice, a laugh, or simply someone to listen to, Dave was always there.

David was always up for an adventure - from trips to Trader Joe's, yard sales to game nights, cookouts, bonfires, and golf trips with his best buddies. He even enjoyed driving Kimberly on her next errand, something he often joked about doing but truly loved because it meant spending time with her. He never missed an opportunity to enjoy the things that made life fun.

As a passionate sports fan, David was a ride-or-die Pittsburgh Steelers supporter, and everyone who knew him definitely knew it. His love for music was legendary as well. He was always ready to turn up the volume and sing along to his favorite hair metal and 80s bands. He also had a special fondness for flamingos and cherished his loyal dog, Bella.

Above all else, David loved deeply. He valued his friendships and lived life with a generous heart. His absence leaves an immeasurable void, but his memory will live on through the stories, laughter, and love he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him.

David will be sadly missed by his wife, Kimberly; his son, Logan; his mother, Barbara; his mother-in-law, Karen; his extended family; his many friends; and all those whose lives he touched. Though his time with us was far too short, the love he gave and the memories he created will last forever.

A Tribute to David will take place on Saturday, June 13, from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Finny's Sports Bar & Grill, 4050 Cleveland Massillon Road, Norton, Ohio 44203. Memories will be shared beginning at 2:30 p.m.
