David J. Mazey

David J. Mazey, 85, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2026. He was born in Barberton on May 14, 1941, and was a life resident. David was a journeyman welder/pipefitter with Local #219 and also co-owned Mazey and Son’s Builders.

Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Anne Mazey, and sister, Ann “Dolly” Hornacek.

He is survived by wife of 64 years, Linda; children, Marlene Garrett, David M. (Vicki) Mazey, and Linda Banic; grandchildren, Bradley C. Garrett, Heather (Dan) Houston, Allison (Sam) Jerome, David M. (Olivia) Mazey, Kurt A. Banic, and Amanda Banic; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Frank “Sonny” (Tonia) Mazey; sister, Janice (Gary) Smith; life-long friends, Elmer Neitz and Bill Ruddock; along with other relatives and friends.

Following David’s wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private service will be held for the family.
