David "Dave" Lynn Burgner

 David “Dave” Lynn Burgner, 78, passed away Monday, January 29, 2024. He was proud to be a life resident of Barberton and a graduate of Barberton High School, Class of 1963. He retired after working for 17 years in Building Product Sales for Louisiana Pacific Weather Seal and 17 years for ABC Supply. For 30 years Dave spent his weekends fishing with his brother, Butch on Lake Erie for Norman D. Lake Erie Charters. Dave served in the United States Army being honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant. Dave was a life member and officer of the Barberton Elks Club; member of the Manchester Eagles Club and the First Hungarian Benefit Society. He also was a member of Barberton First Church of Christ. Dave enjoyed fishing with his brother and friends on Lake Erie, his many years of golfing at Barberton Brookside Country Club, watching his son coach, and especially watching his grandson play baseball. Preceded in death by his parents, Glenn and Letha Burgner and his brother, Norman “Butch” Burgner; survived by his son, David (Michell) Burgner; beloved grandson, Ayden, sister-in-law Sherry Burgner; nephew, Michael (Amy) Burgner; niece, Valerie Burgner; along with many relatives and friends. Dave’s family will receive friends on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton from 4 to 6 p.m. His funeral service will be at 6 p.m. with Russ Shreiner officiating. A private graveside service will take place at a later date at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Justin T. Rogers Hospice Care Center or Barberton First Church of Christ.
