Delcemore “Del” Morris Jr., my beloved husband left my arms for the arms of Jesus, his Savior, on Saturday, July 8, 2023. A heart attack took him, he also had terminal cancer. He was born in Akron, Ohio on Mother’s Day, May 11, 1930, to Delcemore, Sr. and Annie Morris. Del is survived by me, Marcia (Linton) Morris. We have been happily married for 71 years, 10 months, 3 weeks, 5 days. God blessed us with our surviving children, Kathy L. Chandler (Gene), David D. Morris (Sharon), grandchildren, Jonathan Horner (Patty), Andrew Horner (Emily), Jennifer Horner (Matt), Nathan D. Morris (Brittany), Sarah Lester (TJ), Adam D. Morris (Katie), Cindy Cirullo (Frank), Jeff Chandler (Michele), 27 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren and many wonderful nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Del was preceded in death by his parents and younger brother, Ronald B. Morris. Del served in the US Army as Captain during the Korean Conflict at Camp Chaffee, Arkansas as weapons instruction and in the Army Reserves. He graduated from Akron Lincoln Elementary, South High, and University of Akron. He owned and operated his heating and cooling supply company, H & C Supply Company in Akron. He was successful in selling, building, Business Manager and any job he ever undertook. Del loved to travel, dance, outdoors, listening to pleasant music, good food and give lectures to his family. They were given with love, now they say they will miss them. He was a member of Reimer Road Baptist Church, and attended the Akron Chapel for many years. Del told me to make the obit short and simple, and I will. He told me to tell everyone to keep running toward heaven, accept Jesus as your Savior and he will meet us again. Family and friends will be received on Saturday, July 15, 2023 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, Ohio 44203, 330-745-3161.
