Diane M. Betz

Diane M. Betz, 70, passed away Monday, January 23, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a graduate of Garfield High School.  Diane worked 52 years at Carmen Studios photographing thousands of Akron-area seniors and business executives. She never went anywhere without seeing someone she had photographed and hearing how much fun she made it. She was most recently property manager of Trail View Terrace in Cuyahoga Falls.  Diane loved spending summer evenings in her driveway playing cards with her wonderful neighbors and friends.  These good friends and her close cousins stayed by her side throughout her illness visiting her in the hospital and at the nursing home. Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Fannie Betz.  She leaves her most loved and cherished companion, “Sophia Grace”, her rescue dog. She was an avid supporter of rescuing abused animals. Surviving Diane are her brother, Bob Betz (Barb); beloved nephew and niece, Mike Betz (Theresa) and Kim Sherman (Jim) whom she loved to buy new shoes and clothing when they were young; great nephews and nieces, Robby, Amber, Tyler, Ava and JJ; her best friend and neighbor, Janet Stegenga; any many other family and friends. The family would like to thank the wonderful nurses from Summa Palliative Care/Hospice, St. Luke’s Skilled Nursing in Portage Lakes and nurse, Brad for their loving care and kindness. Diane’s funeral service will be held Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 7 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton with Pastor Mike Prebynski officiating. Visitation will be 5 p.m. until time of her service. A private burial will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a pet rescue facility.
