Diane L. Ingersoll, 81, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 26, 2021. She was born on August 7, 1940 in Chicago, Illinois to the late, LaVerne and Emerson Swan. Diane was a resident of the Akron area since 1954 and graduated from Kent State University with both a Bachelors and Master’s Degree in Education. Diane wrote and submitted an education book to a publisher. She taught at Silver Lake, Copley and Akron Grade Schools, she also started her own business as a private tutor. Diane was a member of Copley United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was a friend to every person she met. Preceded in death by her brother, Dale Swan; survived by her husband, Ronald Ingersoll; son, Ward (Laura) Ingersoll; grandsons, Kyle, Danny and Zachary Ingersoll; brother, Chip Emerson (Lesley) Swan of Woodside, California; sister, Evelyn Hinkle of Dallas, Texas; along with other relatives and friends. Diane’s funeral service will be held Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 11 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Rev. Rod Grabski officiating. Burial at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m.
