Doris "Jean" Gilbert

Doris “Jean” Gilbert, 79, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023. She was a resident of Barberton for most of her life. Preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Larkin Wayne Gilbert; mother, Lillian Shipley; brother, Ed Huber and sister, Eleanor Leiby. Jean is survived by daughters, Delores (Dave) Plucinski and Patti (Bob) McClister; sons, John Gilbert and Matthew (Tina) Gilbert; grandchildren, Kylie, Sydney, Jason, Jonathan, Eva, Alexis, Jacob, Nicholas and Sarah; sister, Donna (Larry) Beam; brother, Bill (Karen) Huber; along with numerous nieces and nephews. Jean’s family will receive friends on Monday, December 4, 2023 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton. Followed by her funeral service at 6 p.m. with Pastor Steve Likovetz officiating. Private burial will take place at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Valor Home Akron, 1121 Exeter Road, Akron, Ohio 44306.
