Dorothy Marie Caulkins of Apollo Beach, Florida, formerly of Akron, Ohio passed away on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at the LifePath Hospice House in Sun City Center, Florida. Dorothy was born on April 21, 1921 in Carmi, Illinois to Gilbert and Hetty Lichtenberger. She celebrated her 100th birthday in April with her five daughters, family members and friends. Dorothy was a graduate of Akron City Hospital School of Nursing.She was an active member of Manchester and Lakeview Churches of Christ in Akron, Ohio and Ruskin Church of Christ in Ruskin, Florida. Her homemade baked goods, care for neighbors, friends and family, and proverbial sense of humor will always be a special memory for all who knew her. On May 27, 1950, Dorothy married Dr. Frank A. Caulkins, who preceded her in death. In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her sister, Edna Beckett, her two brothers, William (Buddy) and Donald Lichtenberger and her niece, Cheryl Ann Beckett. Surviving are her five daughters, Dr. Ann Ogg (Ray Ogg, deceased) of Tonopah, Arizona, Sue Marion (John) of Scottsdale, Arizona, Dr. Dottie Erb (John, deceased) of Akron, Ohio, Cindy Caulkins of Ruskin Florida, and Lisa McLaughlin (Patrick) of Liberty Township, Ohio. Dorothy was a loving grandmother to Cindy Erb Holmes of Florence, Kentucky, Eric Erb of Williamstown, West Virginia, Dr. Andi Erb Jopperi of Akron, Ohio, Jared Erb of Columbus, Ohio, Peter Eveland of Phoenix, Arizona, Kristen Eveland Popham of Prescott, Arizona, Daniel McLaughlin of St. Louis, Missouri, and Sean McLaughlin of West Chester, Ohio. She is also survived by nieces, Doris Beckett Zigler and Jill Lichtenberger and nephews Dr. Charles Beckett, Chris Starkweather, John Lichtenberger, Tom Lichtenberger and Chris Starkweather and thirteen great grandchildren. Dorothy’s funeral service will be held on Friday, July 9 at 2:00 PM at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, Ohio with Dr. Charles Beckett officiating. The family will receive visitors from 1:00 to 2:00, prior to the service. Burial will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Akron, Ohio.
