Douglas R. Thrasher

Douglas R. Thrasher, 94, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2025. He was a life resident of Akron. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and also served in the U.S. Navy Reserve. Douglas retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber with 43 years of service. He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #566, Airport V.F.W. Post #8975 and a member of 40/8. Preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Sarah Thrasher and first wife, Alma Thrasher. Douglas is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter, Rebecca Wilkshire; stepchildren, Jean, Charles and Dennis; grandchildren, Patrick and Ashley; step-grandchildren, Chris, Melissa, David, Michael, Kelly, Daniel, Brad and Dennis; along with other relatives and friends. Douglas’ family will receive friends on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, Ohio 44203.
