Ellen E. Corpening, strapped on those high heel dancing shoes and danced her way to heaven on Monday, March 22, 2021 at the young age of 91. She was a life resident of Norton/Barberton area. Ellen retired from Copley Medical Group as a medical receptionist with over 10 years of service and remained a life-long patient. She was an avid Cavalier/Lebron fan and was dedicated to keeping babies warm at Summa Barberton Hospital for decades by knitting hats and booties. Preceded in death by parents, Hilda and Jonas Folk; husband, Ernest Franklin II; son, Ernest Franklin III (Butch); sister, Wanda May Maag; great-grandson, Ayden; special friend, Jerry Albaugh and last but certainly not least her sidekick, “Nelly” the cat. Surviving to carry on her feisty…um…er…fighting spirit… ya let’s go with that and obviously her love of family will carry on through daughter, Lynn Pitz; son, Bruce (Sonia) Corpening; daughter-in-law, Sarah Corpening; grandchildren, Lisa McGonigal (Don), David Pitz (Carrie), Chris (Neil) Tackett, Anna (Brandon) Findlay, Keragen and Dain Corpening; great-grandchildren with a special shout out to Megan for taking great care of her grandma these last few months along with Nicholas (Kelsey), Isaac, Molly, Larkin, Gage and Luke. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Crossroads Hospice and all of her caregivers, Kelly, Shayna, Missy, Debbie and Jami.
