Elsie M. Hess

Elsie M. Hess, 87, of West Farmington went home to be with the Lord surrounded by her family and friends on Wednesday, November 10, 2021. She was born August 26, 1934 to Roy and Laura Shinn. Elsie married Donald Hess and was together 39 happy years. She had a special soul and was loved by all. Elsie was known for cooking large meals and ensuring everyone around her was well taken care of. She was a lifetime member of Cottage Grove E. C. Church. She worked for Rubber Associates for over thirty years and never missed a day of work. She instilled the joy of taking care of others and a great work ethic in her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Preceded in death by her grandson, Daniel Estright and beloved husband, Don. Elsie is survived by her children Susan (Michael) Davis, David Dorst and Janet Rhoades; grandchildren, David (Kris) Estright, Fawna (Max) Pickelsimer, Beth Bryson, Heath Davis, Ryan Davis, Nicole (Antonio) Leon, and Laura Davis; many great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral service will be held Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 11 am at Cottage Grove E. C. Church, 3313 Cottage Grove Road, Akron, 44319. Burial will be at East Liberty Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 West Park Avenue, Barberton, 44203 on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 5-8pm as well as 10 am prior to funeral service at the church.
