Evelyn E. (Herwick) Howe

Evelyn E. (Herwick) Howe, 99, of Akron, Ohio passed away Wednesday, July 7, 2021. She was born April 11, 1922 in Barberton, Ohio to Robert and Evelyn Herwick.  Evelyn graduated from Barberton High School in 1939. She worked at Youngfellow Pharmacy in the Acme Grocery Store in Kenmore where she was known for her kindness, generosity and concern for the customers. Preceded in death by both of her parents; brothers, Robert, Benjamin and Donald Herwick; her husband of 55 years, Lester Howe and daughter, Karen Kosir.  Evelyn leaves to forever cherish her loving memory, her children, Carole Rector, Debra Howe and Brian (Robin) Howe; brother, Gene (Barbara) Herwick; grandchildren, Greg Rector, Don Rector, Jason Kosir, Rachelle Howe, Cody Howe and Chad Howe; along with 12 great-grandchildren; nephews, nieces and friends. Her thoughtful and endless giving nature and her complete devotion to family and friends will remain with us forever. A special thank you to the nurses, aides and staff of the Inn at CoalRidge and Life Care Hospice for their loving and kind care. Evelyn’s funeral service will be held Monday, July 12th, at 11 a.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Chaplin Daron Butler officiating.  Her family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of service.Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Akron Children’s Hospital, One Perkins Square, Akron, Ohio 44308.
