Gene Walker

Gene Walker, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 20, 2025. Born on September 29, 1932 in Spencer, West Virginia. He was a resident of Barberton for most of his life. Gene retired from PPG Industries. He enjoyed playing guitar and singing, shooting, hunting, fishing, karate and racing motorcycles. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Patty Houseworth; second wife, Annette Walker; sons, Lane Walker and Darrel Houseworth; sisters, Sandra Fertenbaugh, Jacqueline A. Lowther Wise; brother, William Lowther and granddaughters, Krista Krichbaum and Tina Dawn Keaton. Gene is survived by his wife, Jeanne; children, Donna (Donnie) Garrison, Linda (Craig) Mitchell, Alan (Kristen) Walker and Carlen (Darlene) Walker; stepchildren, John Matthews and Laura (Ben) Collins; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren; brothers, Gerry Lowther and Greg Lowther and sister, Betty (Steve) Spoon. Gene’s funeral service will be held Monday, August 25, 2025 at 1 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, Ohio 44203 with Pastor Robert Webb officiating. Burial to follow at Lakewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12 Noon until time of his service.
