George Sherrill Obituary

George “Gene” Sherrill, 75, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2022 after a long illness. He was born in Akron on August 31, 1946 and resided in Barberton most of his life. Gene was a long distance truck driver for over 40 years and was a classic car enthusiast. He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Annabelle Sherrill and Rosa and Harold Henke; brother, Joe Henke and sister, Linda Henke. Gene is survived by his wife, Cheryl; daughter, Jennifer (Mark) Jacoby; sons, Timothy and Brandon Sherrill; grandson, Jordan; granddaughters, Abbee, Calli, Miranda and Samantha; sister, Carolyn Woodward; brother-in-law, Raymond Jernigan; beloved pets, “Rudy” and “Max”; along with many devoted friends and other family members. Upon Gene’s request, cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
