Grover C. “Hammy” “Bubby” Collins, went home to join his family in heaven on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 in Melbourne, Florida at the age of 77. Grover was born on January 3, 1944 in Eccles, West Virginia. Our family moved to Akron, Ohio in 1957. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked for Babcock and Wilcox for 33 years. He retired in 1999 and moved to Florida in 2000. He is preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Gracie Collins; brothers, Roger Collins and Jimmy Yeary; sisters, Mattie Lee Yeary, Millie Neal and Gwen “Peggy” Brady; his best friends, Dave Patterson and Gary Strain and his dog, “Frosty”. Hammy leaves behind to mourn his loss; daughter, Tina Collins (Johnny), Candy Kutscher and Belinda Collins (Ernie “Ern”). A very special niece, Dawn (TJ) Ware, very special great-niece, Taylor Ware (Devon); two special great-great-nieces, Trudy and Admire; two special great-nephews, Casey and Logan; along with his dog, “Rocky”. Also four grandchildren, Ryan (Brittney) Collins, Tony (Cindy) Kutscher, Dusty Collins and Mindy Kutscher along with five great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Caidence, Maggie, Abby and Josie. His brothers, Walt (Wanda) Collins of Alabama, Joe (Ruthann) Collins of Akron and Eddie Collins of Doylestown; sisters, Patricia Williams of Beloit and Suzie (Dewey) Adkins of Doylestown; along with many nieces and nephews. Our Bubby was such a special and memorable person to all of us, who had a great love for wrestling, all things Pepsi and cheese. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, playing pool, watching old western movies, boxing and NASCAR. He will be missed a lot by all the people he met in his lifetime. Due to current circumstances masks are recommended and social distancing will be observed. Hammy’s funeral service will be held Friday, February 12th at 1 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 with Charlie Grubbs officiating. Burial to take place at Greenlawn Memorial Park. His family will receive friends on Thursday, February 11th from 4 to 7 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service on Friday.
