Harold Thomas Edwards

Harold Thomas Edwards, 94, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.  Harold was born in Akron, Ohio on December 5, 1930 and was a life resident of the Akron area. He had served in the U.S. Army.  Harold was a member of Lakeview Lighthouse Church. Preceded in death by his father, Thomas Edwards; mother, Lillian Hedger-Dorner; brother, Robert; sisters, Edna, Loretta and Charlotte and his beloved wife of 62 years, Sonja L. Edwards.  Harold is survived by his daughters, Valerie Huffman, Laura (David) Dutton, Terry Edwards and Sonia (Jerry) Shinn; sons, Tim and Ron Edwards; grandchildren, Mandy Huffman, Michael Dawkins (Theresa), Rachael (David) Schmitt, Richard Dawkins, Christopher (Abby) Carter, Timothy (Stephanie) Edwards-Mesko, Brittany Edwards, Allison (Joey) Adelman, Caitlin (Austin) Pickelsimer and Glen Shinn; great-grandchildren, Drew Carter-Silvernail, Ryley and Andrew Schmitt, Jordan Dawkins, Maddison and Brayson Adelman and Kahlan and Zachary Dawkins, Theodore, Penelope, Maverick and Isla Mesko and Owen Carter; great-great-daughter, Rachel Carter-Silvernail; special aunts uncle, cousins, nieces, nephews and many dear friends. Harold’s funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton, Ohio 44203 with Pastor Dwayne Ray officiating.  Burial to follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with military honors.  Harold’s family will receive friends from 11:30 a.m. until time of his service at 12:30 p.m.
