Hazel A. Brummond, 100, was called to heaven on Monday, July 14, 2025. She was born in Cottageville, W.Va. on December 23, 1924. Hazel was a resident of Barberton for most of her life. She worked at the Diamond Match Shop for 17 years, Kridel Plastics for seven years and retired from Louisiana Pacific after 24 years of service. Hazel was a member of First Lutheran Church of Barberton since 1942. She enjoyed taking care of her home and lawn, crocheting, and walking with friend and neighbor, Linda. She made numerous blankets and afghans using various stitch patterns. She has passed on these homemade treasures to future generations in her remembrance. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Randall Tim Brummond; parents Ed and Bertha Durst; brothers, Blaine, Roy, Delbert, Clarence and Virgil Durst; sisters, Gladys Keefer, Mildred Hawkins and Sylvia Ridenour; and nephew, Garell Durst. She is survived by sister-in-law, Jackie Sizemore, many nieces and nephews and special friends, Linda Cucuz, Terri Glover and Tim Struckel. Hazel’s funeral service will be held Monday, July 21, 2025 at 12 noon at Campfield Hickman Collier Funeral Home 566 West Park Avenue, Barberton, Ohio 44203 with Pastor Erik Swanson officiating. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park, Akron, Ohio. Family will receive friends Monday from 11 a.m. until time of her service. The family would like to thank the staff at Pleasant View and nurses at Visiting Angels for all the care and support Hazel received.
