Henry Hiss, 92, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 3, 2025. He was born on August 18, 1932, in Copley, Ohio, to the late Edwin and Margaret Hiss. Henry graduated from Copley High School in 1950 and continued his studies at the American Institute of Baking. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he attained the rank of Staff Sergeant in the Air Force. He later served as Commander of the Naples, Florida, Coast Guard Auxiliary and was a 33rd Degree Mason. As a lifelong baker, he started The Hiss Bakery in Barberton, Ohio, in 1957 with his father, Edwin, and his brother, K. David. Henry was an avid water skier in his younger years and helped form the Wyoga Lake Ski Beavers ski club, as well as being a founding member of the Barberton Junior Chamber of Commerce. He earned his private pilot's license to fly his Cessna 172 and gliders. He also enjoyed time with his family aboard his sailboat, The Joshua. In his later years, he found a new passion for collecting and restoring Farmall Tractors. He is survived by his children: Henry (Anita) Hiss Jr., Karl (Patricia) Hiss, Melinda (Daniel) Ciccarelli, and Melissa (Edwin) Gosney. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. Final arrangements were handled by Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home in Barberton, Ohio.
