James Colombo Obituary

James “Bo” Colombo, 35, passed away peacefully in his sleep Saturday, March 13, 2021 with his family at his side. James died from complications of a genetic disease, rapid-onset dystonia, which he contracted at the age of 17. James was born in Barberton on New Year’s Day, 1986. He was a star baseball player for the Nomads traveling team, he was the MVP of the Barberton Magics freshman team in 2001 and was all conference for the Magics varsity team in 2003, his last year before illness. He also excelled at basketball and other sports. He fulfilled a dream in 1998 when he traveled to the Baseball Hall of Fame and competed in the annual tournament at the Cooperstown Dreams Park, and had his name etched in the annals of the Dreams Park Hall of Fame for hitting a home run in tournament play. James is survived by his father Jim, mother Renee, loving sisters Brandy and Jamie, precious nieces and nephews Alyssa, Jade, Ethan and Joey, and beloved dog, “Blu”. James was a huge Ohio State fan and looked forward to Saturday afternoons in the fall so he could watch his Buckeyes on the big screen. He got to fulfill other dreams by watching the Buckeyes in person at the Horseshoe, and also meeting and having his picture taken with coach, Jim Tressel. Due to safety concerns during the pandemic, cremation has taken place and there will be no services. Please remember Bo in your thoughts and prayers.
