James “Jim” Stocker, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 28th 2024. He was born on September 18, 1957, in Barberton, Ohio. Jim had a short but courageous battle with prostate cancer. Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Christine Gallager. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Pam Stocker, and their daughters, Shannon (Michael Ruff) and Amanda (Jacob Smith). He was a cherished Papa to Parker, Nolan, Olivia, Myles, and a granddaughter expected in September 2024. Jim is also survived by his parents, John and Rosemarie Stocker, and in-laws William and Dorothy Friend. He will be dearly missed by his sisters, Jan (Bill) Shillingburg, Margie (Stacie) Stocker, and sisters-in-law, Jane (Mark Futo), Laura Warholic, and brother-in-law, Bill Friend. He is also survived by his brothers, John Stocker III and Jeffrey Stocker, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.Jim graduated from Barberton High School in 1976 and remained a proud lifelong resident of Barberton. After retiring from Knott Brake Company in 2019, Jim devoted his time to his passions: hunting, fishing, camping, and beach glass hunting along the shores of Lake Erie. Above all, he treasured the moments spent with his grandchildren and his faithful companion, Luke, his beloved dog. A memorial service will be held between 5-7 PM on Friday, July 12th, at First Baptist Church in Barberton, Ohio. The family extends special thanks to Cleveland Clinic Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Jim's final days. Jim Stocker's legacy of love, kindness, and adventure will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
