Jane (Wieczerniak) Konkol

Jane (Wieczerniak) Konkol, 08/20/1923 - 03/31/2021, died peacefully in her sleep this past Thursday in Medina, OH.  Born in Detroit, MI, she married the late Walter Konkol in 1946, also in Detroit. They had and raised three daughters — Betty Jane Beard (John) of Brooklyn MI, Marilyn Carol Nash (Reford) of Norton, OH, and Holly Anne Quaine of Delaware, OH.  She later moved to Warren, MI, and to Clinton Twp, MI — before moving to OH five years ago where she could be assisted by family. Mrs. Konkol was grandmother to nine, and great-grandmother to seven. She raised a family with Walter, and also worked full time, retiring from the United States Postal Service, yet continuing to work at a variety of jobs until age 85! She lived a life of service — serving as Chapter, MI, and National Pres. of the Polish League of American Veterans; Vice Pres. of Polish National Alliance; First Guide of Daughters of Isabella; member of VFW and Purple Heart auxiliaries; selling veterans’ poppies; participating in her political party; and faithfully working for her church – Saint Louise de Marillac in Warren, MI and Saint Hilary in Fairlawn, OH.Hobbies included knitting, crocheting, cooking, cake decorating, ceramics, cards, reading about national and international events, and more. She was deeply loved by her entire family, as well as by a host of friends, all stretching from the USA to Canada and Poland, whom she loved just as deeply in return. All will miss her greatly. A private burial will be held this week in MI.  A public Memorial Mass will be celebrated some months from now. The mortuary is Campfield-Hickman-Collier of Barberton, OH.
