Joanne L. Caperones

Joanne L. Caperones, 77, passed away Sunday, July 24, 2022 after a long courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by her family and her beloved poodle, “Minnie” at her daughter’s home in Hudson. She was born in Barberton on April 27, 1945 and was a graduate of Barberton High School, Class of 1963.  Joanne also graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and was employed as an RN at Barberton Citizens Hospital Emergency Room for many years.  She was a devout Catholic and a member of Prince of Peace Catholic Church.  Preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Mayme Caperones.  She is survived by her daughter, Krista Shaffer; beloved “Yia Yia” to Noah and Lilly; brother, Peter (Susan) Caperones; twin sister, Pat Caperones; cousin, Linda Garey; along with other cousins, relatives and friends. Mass of Christian Burial for Joanne will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 12 Noon at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 1263 Shannon Ave, Barberton with Fr. Robert Jackson as celebrant.  Burial at Lakewood Cemetery. The family will receive friends and family from 11 a.m. until time of her service.
