John Riley Copen, 60, went home to his Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 15, 2022 after a short battle with lung cancer. He is reunited with his wife, Melissa and parents, Tom and Sue Copen. John grew up in Norton and was a graduate of Norton High School, Class of 1980. He lived in Springfield, but loved his life in the Portage Lakes area. He worked many years at JM Machine as Quality Control Lead, following in our father’s footsteps. Johnny was a “Happy-Go-Lucky” guy, who loved his family, fishing and football (Go Packers!). John is survived by his sons, Zach and Tyler; his sisters, Cindy (Skip) Snyder, Barbie (Donald) Hescht and Becky Breitmayer. Also many loving nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He will be missed by his loyal companion, “BuhBe”. Funeral service for John will be Friday, May 20th at 2 p.m. at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton with Pastor Mike Prebynski officiating. The family will receive friends and family from 12 Noon until time of service.
