In the morning hours of Thursday, March 21, 2024 at the well-lived age of 88, John crossed over to join his parents, George and Margaret and eldest daughter, Karen (Mike) Woodard. He will be greatly missed by his high school sweetheart and wife of 68 years Janice, his daughters, Nancy Jacobson and Brenda (Tom) Majestic; his sisters, Irene Artrip and Diana Gross; grandchildren, Scott, Janice and Jessi; great-grandchildren, Jeremiah, Annabella and Hunter; along with extended family and many friends. He was a graduate of Barberton High School, Class of 1955. After retirement from Firestone, he enjoyed caring for his family and home, traveling, spending winters in Florida and dining out with family and friends. Visitation will be held at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home by Lake Anna in Barberton, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton 44203 from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, 2024. Services will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024 at 1 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Burial to follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association.
