John "Shorty" J. Kerr

John J. “Shorty” Kerr, 79, passed away Saturday, May 8, 2021. He was a resident of Barberton for most of his life and was a U.S. Army veteran. Preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Christine Kerr; brother, Harvey Jr. and sister, Ruth.  Shorty is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jean; daughter, Jennifer (Lloyd) Miller; son, Jason Kerr (Nicole); grandchildren, Christopher, Ashley, Nathaniel and Sarah; great-grandchildren, Ava, Anthony and Westin; brother, Tom Carson; sister, Betty Carr; along with other relatives and friends. Shorty’s funeral service will be Thursday, May 13th at 12 Noon at the Campfield-Hickman-Collier Funeral Home, 566 W. Park Ave., Barberton with Pastor Ted Peplowski officiating. Burial at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 5 to 7 p.m. and also one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Due to current circumstances masks are REQUIRED.
